PYRENEES

WHAT IS THIS ?
Pyrenees is a photographic project born in the heart of a rugged mountain range, between silent valleys and windswept peaks. A natural border between France and Spain, this magnificent territory harbors a rich yet discreet biodiversity, shaped by harsh conditions and ever-changing landscapes. Through this project, the aim is to go beyond the summits and the beaten track to reveal the traces of a nature that is both fragile and intensely alive.
For Charlie, the Pyrenees represent a powerful and impactful immersion in a demanding wilderness. During two weeks spent there, he explored the mountain range, encountering its wildlife and its ever-changing light: chamois emerging from the snowfields, griffon vultures soaring in stormy skies, and fleeting encounters along the trails. This project reflects his desire to capture the often-invisible life of the mountains and to offer a sensitive perspective on the delicate balance of life.

In this video, Charlie shares a long period of stakeout devoted to the dipper, which actually required more than two weeks of patience. While waiting, he was surprised to observe other species, including the grey wagtail, which is rare and usually found far away in the Somme.
Filmed from just a few metres away, the wagtail reveals itself in simple, intimate scenes: hunting, preening and wagging its yellow and grey tail. These images, captured almost by chance, are now among Charlie's fondest memories of birdwatching and testify to the unexpected richness of wildlife.
